We were feeling tired of being cooped up, Greg working on his care plan, I working on my book. We took to the streets, same place as usual but this time in an unfamiliar and uncomfortable daytime setting. It was actually too warm for pants, mid 80s outside, truly a gorgeous day.
I invited my friend Jade over for a photoshoot, wanted to achieve that grimey dark feeling that Sylvia Ji uses to style her paintings so well. They turned into something else after a while, and while I am pretty happy with the shots I realize a couple things. I have a pension for over editing, and I need better flash gear. Both problems are well within the range of correctable issues. I am relatively new to these kinds of photo shoots and having an awesome model makes a big difference, I look forward to repeat shoots.
My bro and I drove all the way down to the Casa Grande Domes this night, it’s considerably far from the comforting electric warmth of the city. I have already had a paranormal type of experience down here as a firefighter in my previous career. But luckily I don’t believe in ghosts so walking through here was relatively enjoyable rather than terrifying. That was until I crushed a can and a swarm of birds flew at us from the dark. This place is pretty creepy, the trash, graffiti and general disrepair do much to aid this feeling. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our time here and plan a return visit at some point with our photo cronies, I am not sure about that 300$ photographic rental fee though :)
