Man quietly waiting for the light rail to arrive.  After having a beer and burrito with a friend, we made our way to the light rail.  It was cool outside, streets speckled with people going their own ways.  Because it had been about two weeks since my last street photo session I was excited to arrive in downtown Phoenix.

We were in an alley looking at the graffiti on the walls, my friend was taking pictures and this guy walked up to us.  He asked for some cash, I offered a dollar for a portrait and he obliged.  After taking this photo he described a friend of his who had stomach pain, I asked him if he was around and he seemed to ignore my question.  We parted ways after I thanked him for his time.

Back in the tunnel below the train tracks, I returned to show a friend the eerie silence that this area offers.  After fooling around with my flash for a while we made our way to the end of the tunnel.  She quietly was speaking to me while I was photographing the broke glass at the end, but I didn’t hear at first.  After getting my photo, I finally realized that she was signaling for me to look at the other side, where there were three guys sitting, drinking, all wearing black.  I said we should head back, these guys were staring at us before when we were topside and I just didn’t feel comfortable passing by them.  On our way back to the opposite entrance of the tunnel, I mentioned that even if it seems stupid, trust your instincts, there are some sketchy people out here.  We made our way back towards Bar Smith.
